Islam Grand Court Daughters of Isis
Islam Grand Court working under the jurisdiction of the Imperial Council of these United States received authorization to organize into a just and lawful constituted Court of Isis on June 4, 1962 in Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina. The Grand Warrant was originally issued to the following Daughters residing within the vicinity of Columbia: Daughters Fannie Reed, Hattie Lottes, Nancy Gary, Wilhelmenia Robinson, Evelyn Robinson, Nellie Arter, Thelma Voorhees, Maggie Hill, Glenda Motes, Daughter Silvia Peterson, who was appointed Commandress, and Daughter Eliza McKelsey, appointed High Priestess.
Elected Grand Commandresses since 1962 were: Daughters Luvenia Williams, Willie Mae Davis, Rosa E. Brown, Hattie Sutton, Wander White, Rosa A. Lee, Flossie M. Sims, and Florence Cox.
Since its conception, the Grand Court has increased tremendously in membership and continues to meet at its original location.
