CHRISTINA GRAND COURT OF AMARANTHHISTORY Christina Grand Court was organized on October 27, 1979 under the leadership of the National Grand Royal Matron, H.L. Zeola White because an edict came down from the National Grand Master that asked all states to organized Amaranth Courts in each state. H.L. Helen Clark was elected the first Grand Royal Matron of Christina Grand Court and S.P. Joseph Way was the first Grand Royal Patron. Everyone worked long hours trying to organize Christina Grand Court, the Grand Royal Matron made and donated most of the Court Paraphernalia for Christina Grand Court. The Officers met in Columbia and Greenville to frame the first Constitution and By-Laws. Leadership academies were held at each Semi-Annual and the King and Queen Contest and Banquet that started with St. Mark Court #3 became an annual event.. It was held during the Friday of Grand Lodge. It was a Gala affair that was well attended by all. Christina Grand Court exemplifies all that a Court of Amaranth stands for. It adheres to the four cardinal virtues Truth, Faith, Wisdom and Charity and demand the highest standards of excellence from all of its members. There were three Subordinate Courts established to organize the Grand, and they were: Christina Court #1, Greenville, S.C., Moore’s Court #2, Aiken, S.C., and St. Mark Court #3, Columbia, S.C. On October 27, 2005, the warrant for Christina Court No. 1 - Greenville, SC, was turned into the Grand Royal Matron, H.L. Edna N. Sumter. This Subordinate Royal Court is no longer operational within the State of South Carolina. Christina Grand Court present Officers 2008-2009:
